Eric Kroll has no interest in photographing nudes. But show him a woman in fur-lined panties and extreme heels bound to a chair -- with her consent, of course -- and he's all eyes. Best known for his coffee table book "Fetish Girls" -- published by Taschen, it has sold some , copies -- Kroll composes kinky art pictures noted for the rich mix of accoutrements with which he adorns his models: black leather gloves and red rubber corsets, fencing masks, cactus needles, cellophane, ballet shoes, bird seed, custom-made harnesses and underwear sewn together to fit two. It's a synthesis of different elements," says Kroll, 57, whose provocative and sometimes graphic work is on display in a work retrospective, "Every Mother's Nightmare," at the Shooting Gallery in San Francisco. The pictures portray a multitude of sexual fantasies, obsessions and comically surreal tableaux, as well as women who can do unusual things like wrap a leg around their heads while leaning against a wall, or smoke a cigarette clasped between their toes.
